Looking after yourself in 2021
How are you finding the start to 2021? In the lead up to New Year's Day it sounded like a lot were expecting the change of calendar to be some kind of reset where Covid-19 magically disappeared and everything went back to normal — whatever normal was.
Clearly that hasn't happened so where to next?
It's vital that you do what you need to take care of yourself so that you are well placed to take care of others. I can't say what's right for you. Only you know that. What I do offer is a reminder to be aware that looking after yourself is more than just attending to physical needs such as eating well, exercising, and sleep. You also need to keep an eye on your mental health and make sure you are getting mental rest as well as physical rest. This you can do with meditation, reading, movies or any other pastime that you enjoy.
It's more than ok to check out for a while. It's necessary.
