It was cold when we pulled the annex to the tent down but that just meant we worked faster. Even so it was about 11.00 am before we left. Most of the day was spent on the motorway. There was a time when (due to bad signing) we ended up in the middle of Köln. Since I was there earlier in the year^[1] I managed to navigate us right through th emiddle of the city (with a caravan) and didn't get lost once. This was pretty damn good considering the traffic.

We spent the night in a carpark just off the autobahn (this is legal in G[ermany]) but were far enough away that we weren't bothered by the noise. This was a momentous occasion as I touched my toes for the first time in seven years. Two weeks ago I started {wp|push up|push-ups}} etc., and it has helped.
