Today I was lazy again and slept in late but not late enough so that I didn't have time to go shopping before we left for the summer house. I had to buy some more writing paper and envelopes. Very important!

At the summer house Jørgen mowed the lawn and I raked it up. There was less than last time but the grass grows quickly in this Danish summer.

The evening was spent reading and watching some really boring TV shows. I watched the TV because I wasn't in the mood for letter writing (even on new paper).

Bjarne arrived at about 10 o'clock. After a cup of coffee and a game of othello we played cricket. Bjarne went home at 11.00 [pm] and up until that time we were still playing. I wish it was that light for so long in Australia. Bjarne is staying with Lis and William.

• Now, some 20 years later writing paper and envelopes would be the last things on my mind. A phone with email and SMS capabilities is much more necessary. The struck out entry was originally written ten days late and refers to something which happens tomorrow.
